Vision and values

MDC is the story of a family dream and entrepreneurial spirit that has managed to stay current over time. Its great ability to adapt to social and market changes for more than 70 years has enabled the various Brugarola generations, along with a large professional and human team, to continue with the same enthusiasm on the path that began in 1949.

1949

In Sant Hilari Sacalm, Tornería Artística Brugarola was born, a family business dedicated to the production and sale of wooden craft items for gifts (souvenirs), decoration, and small furniture.

1985

The second generation of the Brugarola family founded MDC, a new company dedicated to the manufacturing of decorative wooden lighting, with design and quality at competitive prices.

2002

Construction of the new facility in Sant Hilari Sacalm, thereby expanding its structure to 14,000 square meters of warehouse space.

2007

Mo Deng is established, a company located in Shunde, Foshan, China, and fully owned by MDC (WFOE-Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprise). A European production center in China with over 5,000 square meters and 180 workers.

2011

A bump in the road. In 2011, the Asian facilities suffer a fire, meaning starting from scratch again, this time including more materials beyond wood. In 2014, they establish themselves in the new location.

2018

The company is committed to internationalization and offers two lines of catalogs to provide the maximum number of solutions to all levels of consumers.

2019

They resume participation in global fairs such as Light and Building or Euroluce, biennial fairs where all the key players in the sector attend and participate.

2020

The fan arrives at MDC. Without a doubt, it was a great challenge for the company to manufacture fans with good performance and lighting. Models like the Pisa or Mistra are the most successful of the year.

2021

With a fresh approach, wicker arrives. MDC wants to go even further, developing wicker fans. Without a doubt, a great innovation within the industry.
